Product Introduction

Stabilizer is an important tool to stabilize the down-hole equipment and prevent deviation in oil and gas drilling. It is manufactured from high strength alloy steel (non-magnet steel optional), and prevents differential sticking of the drill string by stabilizing the BHA and keeping drill collars and drill pipes away from the borehole wall. In that case, the deviation rate and azimuth change rate will follow the drilling plan, that can avoid “dog leg” from happening. Stabilizers can also increase the drilling speed and reduce the drilling cost.

•Ensure maximum circulation by milling the fluid passageways between the stabilizer blades to neck size, which retains a safe margin of strength and excellent fluid passage—the result is superior hydraulics that pays off in maximum bit penetration rates

•Ensure the long-term performance of your stabilizers with carbide-surfaced blades that keep the hole and drill string centered and on track. Cougar places plenty of extra carbide on the leading edge of each blade, where stabilizers typically wear the most.

Non-rotating stabilizer

Non-rotating stabilizer (rubber sleeve stabilizer) is able to avoid blade wear and wall damage during drilling operation. The non-rotating stabilizer consists of mandrel, copper washer, rubber sleeve, spacer sleeve and self-locking lower sub.

During drilling, the non-rotating stabilizer transfers the torque by means of mandrel. The rubber sleeve is sliding and moving relative to the mandrel and it plays a role in stabilizing the well. A locking clutch (self-locking lower sub) will help to avoid sleeve rotation during washover operation.
